Try on a dress from the comfort of your home, we now post dresses to try on across New Zealand!

 

Our postal try on service becomes available to book each week between 3pm Wednesday - 3pm Thursday for garments which have not been booked for the coming weekend. 

 

How it works: 

1. Any week between 3pm Wednesday - 3pm Thursday, select the rental(s) you would like to try on. YOU MUST SELECT YOUR POSTAL TRY ON FOR THE UPCOMING SATURDAY (2-3 days away from todays date) and only have 1-3 rentals in your cart. You can not book a postal try on weeks in advance. Failure to do so will result in a store credit refund only.

If the rental is unavailable to book for this Saturday, it is unavailable for you to try on. Please try again next week! If you book a postal try on for weeks in advance, you will be refunded through store credit only. Please keep this in mind when booking.

2. Add the discount code 'POSTALTRYON' at checkout; your order will be reduced by 50%. 

3. Continue to checkout and complete your payment. 

4. Your try on will be posted to you on either Wednesday or Thursday, with overnight courier. The dress should arrive to you on Thursday, Friday or Saturday. Please keep this in mind when booking a postal try on, you cannot book for a specific date with guaranteed arrival. Please make sure you’re home all of these days as the dress must be returned the same day it’s tried on. The rentals will arrive with security tags attached. Do not remove these. 

5. Try on the dress(es) from the comfort of your home! If you would like to book one for your event, please reach out the same day you receive the dress to get a special code for 25% off. Only valid until midnight. You’re still more then welcome to book the dress after this time, but the discount code will not apply.

6. Return the dress(es) by handing them over a post office counter the same day it arrives. The dress must be returned the same day it arrives, or a daily late fee of $25 will be charged.

 

Terms & Conditions: 

- If the rentals do not fit, you will not receive any compensation. 

- The rental can not be put on hold for the date of your event. In booking a postal try on, you are taking the risk that the dress may be booked for your event date by another customer. 

- Any bookings made incorrectly will be refunded via store credit only due to all instructions being clearly labeled.

- If the rentals are returned without the security tags attached or appear to have been worn/marked, you will be charged the full rental price on top of the tryon price.

- Postal try ons are unavailable for weekends with a public holiday. (We will state at the top of the information page if they're not available for the following weekend).

- Postal try ons are not available for rural addresses. 

- If the rentals are damaged while in your possession, you are liable to pay the associated cleaning, repair, or replacement cost as well as the rental price.

- If the rentals are not handed over a post office the same date it arrives, you will be charged a daily late fee of $25.

- Postal try ons can arrive on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. We can not guarantee which day these will arrive, nor can you book for any of these certain days. Please keep this in mind when booking, and make sure your home on all of these days to ensure you can return it ontime.

- It is at the discretion of Renting With Amelia to allow/remove postal try ons each week. 

- Please be aware: The condition of the garment may have deteriorated between your postal try on and event. 

- The 25% off try on code can not be applied to any orders already placed. Nor can the 50% off code.

Do you offer in-person try-ons?

Unfortunately, we do not currently have the space to offer in-person try-ons.

Do you offer pickup try-ons?

Yes, we offer pickup and drop-off try-ons from Oamaru.

Try-ons must be arranged via email only. Please contact us with the dress(es) you would like to try on, and we will advise their next available dates. Please note this is a maximum of 3 dresses only.

A fee of $5 per dress applies for pickup try-ons. This fee is redeemable if you proceed with a booking by midnight on the day of your try-on.

For example, if you try on three dresses, you will be invoiced $15. If you book one of those dresses, $5 can be deducted from your final booking.

Once your try-on has been arranged, an invoice will be sent. Payment must be completed before collection. After payment is received, you will be provided with the pickup address and instructions.Please note this can sometimes take a couple hours if payment is made immediately.

Important Conditions:

• Try-ons are limited to a maximum of 1 hour, unless otherwise agreed in advance.
• All dresses must be returned within this timeframe, as arranged.
• Late returns will incur late fees.
• All dresses are provided with security tags attached. These must not be removed. Removal will result in being charged the full rental price.
• Please do not wear fake tan, makeup, or perfume when trying on dresses. Any signs of wear or damage will incur additional charges.
• Dresses must be returned in the same bag, with all tags attached and the return card included.

Why do we charge for pickup try ons?

Our try-on fee helps cover the additional handling and preparation required for each garment.

All dresses are typically booked back-to-back, meaning they are scheduled to be sent out again shortly after being returned. Offering try-ons requires us to temporarily remove garments from our booking schedule, which can impact availability for confirmed rentals.

In addition, every dress returned from a try-on must be carefully re-prepared to meet our quality standards. This includes steaming or ironing, and where necessary, cleaning if any marks or signs of wear are present.

The try-on fee ensures we can maintain the highest standard of presentation for all customers, while continuing to offer this service in a fair and sustainable way.

If a rental is effected because of a late drop off, you are responsible to pay the full rental price, shipping & late fee. Same goes for drop off try ons, if the try on isn’t dropped off within 1 hour.

- If you have after work or school commitments, we do not recommend booking a postal try on. They must be dropped back off the same day it’s delivered. We can not guarantee which day they will arrive or what time.

- It is at the discretion of Renting With Amelia to allow/remove postal try ons each week. 

- Postal try in codes are strictly for postal try ons only minor for regular rentals. If you decide to be sneaky and use the try on code for a normal rental, you will not be refunded and your order will be cancelled.
