Does Renting With Amelia Offer Postal Try Ons?

How Much Does it Cost?

Postal try ons are 50% of the rental fee + shipping. Once you’ve tried on the dress, you have until midnight the same day to let me know if you’d like to book it. If you decide you would like to book it, you will get a special code that offers you 25% off the rental. This discount code is only applicable if you let me know / book before midnight.

How Do I Book?

Postal try ons can only be booked a week in advance. You can only book a postal try on if it hasn’t been booked for the weekend. Postal orders are recommended to be placed by 3pm Wednesday. If a dress is available after this time, you can book it for a postal try on. Postal try ons can only be booked between Wednesday 3pm - Thursday 10am. Any try ons booked after / before this time will only be refunded via store credit. Add the dress/dresses you’d like to try on to your cart, then use the code POSTALTRYON . This will take 50% off the booking. Once you’ve placed the order, it will be sent out either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning with overnight courier. Meaning it should arrive between Thursday - Saturday. All dresses come with a security tag, so not take this off or you will be charged for the full rental price. Once you’ve tried on the dress it is very important that you drop it back off to the post office the same day you receive it. Failure to do this will result in a $25 late fee and being charged the full rental price for your garment. All postal try ons come with a return card and an empty pre paid bag. Please return the dress and the card in the pre paid bag to an NZ Post store, NOT a drop box. Please note that any signs of long wear, stains, or makes will result in being charged the full rental price. Please refrain from wearing any makeup, tan, or perfume. As this can cause you to be charged.

Do you offer in person try ons?

Unfortunately at the moment we don’t have to space to occupy in person try ons.

Do you offer pickup try ons?

Yes we do! We offer pickup and drop back off try ons. Try ons can be picked up from Oamaru. Try ons can only be arranged via email, please email me which dress / dresses you’d like to try on and I can let you know when they’re next available to try on. We charge a fee for pickup try ons, $10 per dress you would like to try on. Once we’ve arranged the dress / dresses you’d like to try on and when you can pick them up, you will receive an invoice with payment. Dresses can not be picked up until payment has been made. Once payment has been made you will be given instructions on where to pick them up from and the address. Once you’ve picked up the dress, you can try it on and have them for no longer then 1 hour. All try ons come with security tags attached. Please do not remove these or you will be charged the full rental price. Please refrain from wearing any fake tan, makeup, or perfume. As any signs of long wear will be charged. All try ons must be dropped off within 1 hour / before 3pm the following day. Failure to do this will result in late fees. The dress must be dropped off in the same bag, with all tags attached & with the return card.

Terms & Conditions: 

- If the rentals do not fit, you will not receive any compensation. 

- The rental can not be put on hold for the date of your event. In booking a postal try on, you are taking the risk that the dress may be booked for your event date by another customer. 

- If the rentals are returned without the security tags attached or appear to have been worn/marked, you will be charged the full rental price. 

- Postal try ons are unavailable for weekends with a public holiday. 

- Postal try ons are not available for rural addresses. 

- If the rentals are damaged while in your possession, you are liable to pay the associated cleaning, repair, or replacement cost. 

- If the rentals are not handed over to NZ Post the same day it’s delivered, you will be charged a daily late fee of $25. Same goes if you drop it off to a drop box and it doesn’t get scanned. Same goes for drop off try ons, if the try on isn’t dropped off within 3 hours or before 3pm you will be charged.

- It is at the discretion of Renting With Amelia to allow/remove postal try ons each week. 

- Please be aware: The condition of the garment may have deteriorated between your postal try on and event.
